The luxury housing areas of The Estates in North Bangalore offer a remarkable opportunity for bird watching enthusiasts. Nestled at the foothills of the picturesque Nandi hills, this region serves as a haven for diverse avian species that thrive in the urban-wilderness interface.
Despite the urban development, The Estates has managed to provide a thoughtful landscaping within it, and this coupled with the natural backdrop of the Nandi hill’s significant green spaces attract a variety of birds.
We were on a one-day outing to Casa Divina (a house in The Estates), belonging to Pradeep and family. As we were enjoying their wonderful hospitality, I, every now and then disappeared into its green spaces with my camera. Though it was the beginning of summer, and our visit to the place was not so early in the day, the birds, dragonflies, and butterflies I could spot pleasantly surprised me.
