Recent news is encouraging. The leopard population in India is estimated to be around 13,874, showing an increase of 8% since 2018! Madhya Pradesh boasts the highest number of leopards, followed by Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. Bondla Wild Life Sanctuary, Goa, has a few of them in semi-confinements. The stately demeanour of these cats are sight to behold.
