I found this blue-faced malkoha (Phaenicophaeus viridirostris) or small green-billed malkoha in Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu. It is a kind of cuckoo found in the scrub and small forests of peninsular India and Sri Lanka. It is shy and flies away from human sight. I finally managed to take pics of it out in a crematorium ground. It inhabits lowland and hill areas, where it favours thorny scrub and large bushes. It has unmistakable blue ring around its eyes.
