The nests of
purple-rumped sunbird are never very attractive. They hand down from plants and
creepers like dried leaves.
The purpose of making the nest less attractive and make
it hang down on feeble creepers is for the protection of the egg and young ones
from larger birds and predators. Even if they spot it they will not be able to
climb on them.
