Kadaknath, also called Kali Masi, Karinkozhi is an Indian breed of chicken that is black all over. They originated from Madhya Pradesh, mostly bred by the rural poor and tribals.The meat from this breed has a geographical indication (GI Tag) tag that was approved by the Indian government on 30 July 2018.
There is also the Ayam Cemani chicken, found
in Indonesia which is considered the most pigmented: not only are the bird’s
feathers, beak, comb, tongue, and toes a striking, blue-ish black, but so are
its bones. Even the chicken’s meat looks like it has been marinated in squid
ink. There are other variations of it, like, H’Mong chickens of Vietnam and the
svarthöna of Sweden.
