The common Jezebel, Delias eucharis, has yellow and orange colouration which resembles Hindu ritual smearing. The bright yellow and saffron colours keep it safe from predating birds.
Common Jezebel often flies high up and comes lower
down only to feed on nectar in flowers. While on flowers they are quite
relaxed.
