Toads (loosely called also as frogs) and their season called mating never goes unnoticed. They breed in shallow fresh water, such as ponds, in April and around. The adults congregate in places like ponds for the season.
Yesterday they had come in dozens to our garden pond (I guess they have no idea about Covid-19 lockdown). The males kept competing for females. They attracted the females with high-pitched peeps and full-throated croaks. Females did sing at times too. And the pond became alive and animated. The paparazzi in me wasted no time.
