Mahatma Gandhi had spent 45 days at Nandi Hills in April-May of 1936 at the instruction of his Physician Dr. Jivraj Mehta. Nandi hills is a small hill station near Bengaluru in Chikkaballapur district.
Gandhiji rejuvenated while staying in the Hills for 45 days. The place where Gandhiji stayed is called Gandhi Nilaya. It is today renovated by the Tourism department and tourists are allowed to stay in a portion. The garden attached to the building has a garden and a statue of Mahatma Gandhi. I took these pics staying in that building. The fog around and the street light behind give him a fitting hallow as the Mahatma.
