Boats at Chethi Beach, Kerala

From the making of some of India’s blockbusters to cyclone Ockhi - these shores, boats and people have seen them all. Visited those shores on the southwest edge of India, which was devastated by cyclone Ockhi in 2017, killing 100s. There are boats which came on to the shore from elsewhere, people of the area are not sure from where, may be from the other shore.

The boats are kept safe, hopping that the people who once toiled in them would one day return. As they looked on to the yonder seas and narrated their stories, there were tears in their eyes. I said a prayer before I packed up. I believe in miracles, and the belief became stronger after I saw those survived men and women bouncing back to living.
